Missionary Training |
|
The Latin American Missionary and Bible Institute was founded in October 1999, as a result of a vision God gave Suzy McCall for training Hondurans who are called to mission. One of only a few missionary training programs in Central America, the LAMB Institute curriculum includes classes similar to those taught in Bible colleges, but with an emphasis on world mission. In addition to classroom training, missionary preparation includes experience in such areas as vocational and micro business training and field practicums. Most importantly, the program aims toward the formation of true disciples of Christ, who will walk in holiness, transparency, and love. The missionary training program led to the development of God's Littlest Lambs Daycare and School, God's Littlest Lamb's Children's Home and the Community Assistance Program (CAP). The missionary training program, with its mission of reaching out to the world, led to the development of God's Littlest Lambs.

Missionary training is at the heart of LAMB's ministry. LAMB seeks to be a place where Hondurans who are called by God to take the Good News of Jesus to other parts of the world can receive training for that critical work. Training is accomplished in classroom settings, through hands-on ministry among the poor of Honduras and through work abroad in places like India and Pakistan.

In its early years, the LAMB Institute provided a 2-3 year full time mission based curriculum. Over time, it became evident that people needed to earn a living as they prepared for missionary service. So LAMB began to offer training in a more flexible format, providing weekend workshops and evening classes. Today, missionary candidates attend classes in addition to getting valuable ministry experience in the various arms of LAMB's outreach in Honduras.
