Suzy McCall

Founder, Field Director

The LAMB Institute

When Suzy was a freshman at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, she was asked to participate in a Bible study for college students at St. James Episcopal Church.  It was then that she began to understand what it meant to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus.  She dedicated her life to Him that year.

After teaching English at Trident Academy in Mt. Pleasant, SC for seven years, Suzy became Director of Christian Education at St. Philips Church in Charleston.  It was while Suzy was at St. Philips that God confirmed a call to follow the Lord to the mission field.  She left Charleston in the fall of 1990 and arrived in Tegucigalpa, Honduras without knowing one person or speaking much Spanish, being the first to arrive on a church planting team with SAMS (the South American Missionary Society).

Now many years later, Suzy is founder and Field Director of the Latin American Missionary and Bible Institute (LAMB) and of LAMB's ministries in Honduras which includes God's Littlest Lambs Daycare and School and God's Littlest Lambs Children's Home.  When asked why her title wasn't Executive Director, Suzy responded, "God is the Executive Director!"  The LAMB Institute is committed to the training of Hondurans and others called to the mission field in Honduras and other lands.  God's Littlest Lambs Daycare, School and Children's Home are local extensions of that vision.

A multi-gifted person, Suzy conveys through her life the power and effectiveness of a person willing to follow Jesus wherever He sends her.  She is a lover of language - written, spoken, sung, prayed - and is an amazing communicator in word and deed of the love of God, pointing many to our mighty God with fierce abandon.  Suzy is loved by children, teenagers, the old and young alike.  She has a quick and hearty laugh and the ability to "comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable!"  Now as young people around her are inspired by her example, she challenges them to give all for Him on the mission field themselves.

Originally from Barnwell, SC, and raised at the Church of the Holy Apostles, Suzy was awarded Distinguished Alumni of the Year at the College of Charleston in 2000.

Suzy lives in San Vincente, between the school and Flor del Campo and the children's home in San Buanaventura.  Suzy has 7 adopted Honduran children of her own:  Sarahi 28, Mari 18, Noe 17, Lety 14, Sallie 7, Elsa 6, and Lucy 3 1/2!
